While helping build NBC's commerce marketplace, Leon saw how difficult it was to manage thousands of products at the variant level. Working with hundreds of brands at Amazon made the problem even clearer. Many teams struggled to understand which styles, colors, or sizes were actually driving sales.
At the same time, Jared worked closely with merchandising teams at GameStop and FIGS and saw the same challenges from the inside. Merchandisers were responsible for complex assortments, but the tools available did not provide the detail needed to make confident decisions.
What stood out most was that many brands did not have a dedicated merchandiser at all. Founders, marketers, and operations teams were often sharing the responsibility, even though merchandising decisions directly impact revenue, ad performance, and inventory health.
